Treatment usually involves a consultation, preparation and fit appointments. A small amount of enamel may need to be removed to make space for the veneer. We then take impressions or digital scans, and your veneers are made by a skilled laboratory before being bonded into place at a later visit. Composite veneers can sometimes be completed in a single appointment.
Veneers usually involve permanent changes to your natural tooth structure. They can chip or debond and may need replacement in future. Suitability depends on the health of your teeth and gums, your bite and your habits. Where appropriate, we will discuss alternatives such as bonding, whitening, orthodontics or crowns.
Your dentist will carry out a full assessment, take photographs and may use digital previews to help you visualise potential outcomes. You will receive a written plan covering benefits, risks, alternatives and indicative costs. All treatment is provided by GDC-registered clinicians.
Veneers benefit from gentle, consistent home care.
Use a soft-bristled brush and a non-abrasive fluoride toothpaste.
Floss or interdental brushes protect veneer margins.
Reduce coffee, tea and red wine; rinse with water afterwards.
Don’t bite nails, ice or use teeth as tools.
Tobacco can stain edges and harm gum health.
Useful if you grind or clench your teeth.
